Intramural athletics


I think that is what a lot of schools are putting into the football buildings. If they put the intramural athletics department staff into some offices in the building, then the athletic department can say that the building is used for all students and not just the football team.

Same reason that lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, and baseball/softball teams use the indoor practice facilities. That way the athletic department can say that that building is for the whole athletic department and not just the football team. Of course everyone knows that the field hockey team might be practicing at 11pm because the football team has first dibs on the schedule.
